Bern Knits – a wool festival, above all a feeling.
In January 2027, the Congress Centre in Biel will transform into a place where threads tell stories, hands create, and ideas take shape. We believe in the power of craftsmanship. In slow making in a fast-paced world. In materials that carry warmth—and in encounters that last.
With Bern Knits, we are creating a space for exactly that: for inspiration, exchange, and the joy of making. Here, traditional techniques meet modern design, a love of quiet detail meets bold forms, and beginners meet experienced creators.
We want to show everything that can be made from wool. Knitting is an obvious focus, but there will also be room for crochet, weaving, bobbin lace, knotting, and other handcrafts made from wool. Whether the wool is natural, dyed, or further processed—there are no limits.
Whether you come to discover, to learn, or simply to immerse yourself, Bern Knits invites you to become part of this special atmosphere.
A festival of wool, ideas, and people. A place that connects.
Welcome to Bern Knits.
About Us
Yvonne and Marcel—two creative perspectives coming together as one vision. Yvonne designs with a refined sense for color, form, and texture. Marcel captures powerful moments through his camera. What unites them is the desire to do things differently.
In 2018, they brought Artlana to life. Their knitting magazine anders reflects curiosity, creativity, and a commitment to rethinking content. Four more issues followed. Through their presence at fairs, they built meaningful connections, inspiring conversations, and a growing network. From this exchange, new ideas and perspectives emerged.
Yvonne continues to design knitting patterns, which she publishes independently. She also runs a successful knitting group and creates knitwear for theater and art projects. Marcel photographs private events as well as projects for public institutions and advertising. In May 2026, he will present his first solo exhibition. Together, they also organize Klick – Fotosession, an event for photographers and models.
Sharing creativity with others is a strong driving force for both of them. And now, from a long-spun vision, something new is taking shape—a festival that inspires, connects, and moves people.
